Ah-kwah-bah (Hi) Everyone!!!

My name is Nina. I am twenty years old and am really excited to meet you all. I love art and studying human behavior, and that is why I am a sociology major with an art minor. I plan on getting to know each and everyone of you and your strengths. I hope you all will enjoy my fun loving personality and I can’t wait to see the smiles on your faces from all of the self empowerment and fun activities that we are going to have.

Volunteer Profiles - Laura

Hi everyone! My name is Laura Covarrubias and I am 20 years old. I grew up with one older sister in South Texas and I am half-Mexican. I study film at the University of Texas at Austin and I love to watch all kinds of movies and television shows. At the university I am also part of a volunteer organization that teaches others students how to lead healthy lives and make good decisions. After I graduate I hope to join the Peace Corps, an American volunteer organization that helps developing countries, and then either continue my education or work with a non-profit organization.

During my time in West Africa I hope to experience the rich Ghanaian culture and encourage cooperation between the United States and Ghana. I am also very excited to work at the Osu Children’s Home and to get to know each and every one of you. I hope we have a great week together!
